NYCDOE OASP has a goal to build an Arts Portal website for New York City that will aggregate information about Arts Education, Services, Products, Programs, and Projects in a map-based interface. The information available will consist of school arts programming, free after school programs, internships, work-based learning opportunities, and more.
The product mission is to provide an equitable opportunity for NYC students, families, educators, and city partners to discover the depth of Arts programming, services, and data in an intuitive and informative manner. The project has the opportunity to make an incredible impact in promoting equity in the NYC arts education and services ecosystem.
The goal of our discovery process was to gather, formalize, and validate information, document the project objectives, and define the overall scope to enable funding for the subsequent design and development of the portal. Discovery included a series of activities including a peer review, data audit, stakeholder interviews, and user persona development. Deliverables included a comprehensive product development roadmap and budget, written scope, and functional and technical specifications.
