Buffalo Public Schools
A service design strategy informed by user research.
We worked with the Buffalo Public School System to define a comprehensive service design strategy for their future state admissions and enrollment processes. Our driving goals were to eliminate bottlenecks in workflows, increase overall efficiency of process, and build parent’s trust in the school system through transparency and standardization.
During this engagement, we spent time interviewing administrators, case workers, and parents to identify their pain points and desires. Our research findings heavily informed our recommendations for a centralized admissions platform.
A final report detailed this work and included a full transcript and analysis of user research sessions, a comprehensive list of future state functional requirements, and end-to-end workflow diagrams comparing the current state to the proposed future state- highlighting where pain points are alleviated by solutions.
This project is a great example of how a research and consulting engagement can help clients envision what is possible, craft RFP’s and establish realistic budgets for their needs.
